COVID-19 Update

Tuesday, March 24th, 2020

Alabama Medical Group has served the healthcare needs of our community since 1946, and we will continue to do so during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis. The health and well-being of our patients, community and entire healthcare team is Alabama Medical Group’s top priority. To help minimize the potential exposure of COVID-19, beginning March 18 we are implementing the following infection control measures for all patients, visitors, staff and physicians:

  • Patients who are experiencing symptoms of a cough, fever or difficulty breathing, should call 251.414.5900 and leave a message for our nursing staff in order to receive instructions prior to coming into the office for medical care. *Please note that our phone room operators are experiencing an extremely high call volume, so we ask for your understanding and patience during this time. Also, patients may utilize our FollowMyHealth patient portal to communicate with our nursing staff. Click this link to access FollowMyHealth: https://bit.ly/2Uemgbz
  • Please limit the number of caregivers who accompany you to your appointments.
  • All patients, caregivers, physicians and staff will be screened for fever as they enter our medical clinics.

We will continue to monitor updates and following guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), and our local and state health departments to help prevent the spread of the virus and will provide updates as conditions evolve.
