Alabama Medical Group offers three levels of chemical peels. Peels loosen dead cells from the skin’s surface, revealing new, healthy cells beneath. It also reduces the depth of surface lines, smooth rough skin texture, treat skin discoloration, and assists in clearing acne/blemished skin.
Level 1 Chemical Peel: Vital Peel (20 minutes)
The Vital Peel is a treatment that helps fight the effects of time, sun damage, and environmental assaults. This powerful yet non-damaging peel can take years off aging skin. This is the perfect peel for patients with mild to moderate skin conditions including fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, pigment irregularities, and acne.
You will see noticeable results after one peel; significant results after 3 to 6 peels.
Level 2 Chemical Peel: Subsidiary Peel (40 minutes)
A Subsidiary Peel involves the application of a chemical exfoliant that causes controlled damage of the epidermis and part or all of the papillary dermis (top layer), which ignites regenerative changes and restores the skin’s tone and texture in just a single setting. The most common combination of agents in a subsidiary peel is trichloroacetic acid (TCA), for which it is named, plus Jessner’s solution (Dr. Max Jessner’s mix of salicylic acid, lactic acid, and rescorcinol), and glycolic acid. Because the strength of a peel determines the level of penetration, the nature of destruction, and the inflammatory response, causes moderate destruction and offers intermediate results when compared to a Superficial Peel or Vi Peel. These peels can be applied to the face, neck, and body and are highly effective in smoothing texture, improving superficial discoloration and mild photo-aging, eliminating fine wrinkles, and enhancing vitality of skin.
Level 3 Chemical Peel: Superlative Peel (50 minutes)
The Superlative Peel is a formula consisting of a blend of powerful ingredients that helps improve skin tone, texture and clarity. It softens fine lines and wrinkles, and restores a more even skin tone by reducing age spots and sun damage. This peel is sub-dermal which means it peels more than just the top layer giving the client “baby skin”. It “peels” away surface damage and lightens underneath damage. In addition, it contains ingredients that address most of my clients concerns. It improves texture by smoothing away rough skin to reveal a more youthful, glowing complexion. This peel will cause the skin to slough off and in some patients will cause downtime.
