RN Triage Phone Nurse
Alabama Medical Group is seeking a dedicated RN Triage Nurse to join our healthcare team. The RN Triage Nurse will be responsible for assessing patients’ conditions over the phone to determine the urgency of medical needs and provide appropriate guidance.
Responsibilities:
- Talk directly to patients on the telephone and then direct them to the appropriate follow up for care.
- Performs evaluations of the patient’s situation to estimate severity of illness and/ or injury and determines urgency of seeing the patient based on assessment and familiarity with patients’ condition and history. Confers with physician as needed.
- Communicates physician advice/instructions to patients over the phone including giving information about abnormal labs and physician assessments, interventions, medication prescriptions and test results and documenting these in the EMR.
