Internal Medicine/Family Practice Physician

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Physician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions, focusing on adult patients. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, with an emphasis on preventive medicine and health education. The Internal Medicine/Family Practice Physician will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care tailored to the individual needs of patients.

Duties:

  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations and assessments to determine medical history and current health status.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on patient needs and evidence-based practices.
  • Manage chronic illnesses and coordinate care for patients with complex medical conditions.
  • Perform necessary diagnostic tests and interpret results, including laboratory tests and imaging studies.
  • Provide education to patients regarding lifestyle changes, preventive care, and management of health conditions.
  • Collaborate with specialists when necessary to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic health record systems such as Allscripts.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to stay current with advancements in internal medicine.

Must be Board Eligible or Board-Certified primary care physician (family practice or internal medicine.) Must be licensed in the state of Alabama.

This opportunity requires about 80% outpatient care and 20% inpatient care.

Infectious Disease Physician

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Infectious Disease physician to join our healthcare team. This role involves diagnosing and treating patients with infectious disease and collaborating with other specialists to provide comprehensive care tailored to the individual needs of patients.

Duties:

  • Conduct patient evaluations and assessments to diagnose infectious diseases.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Work closely with specialists to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families about disease management, prevention strategies, and treatment options.
  • Participate in hospital rounds and provide consultation services as needed.
  • Stay updated on the latest research and advancements in infectious disease management.
  • Strong clinical skills in hospital medicine and experience managing patients with complex medical conditions.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to stay current with advancement in infectious disease.

Must be Board Eligible or Board-Certified in Infectious Disease.  Must be licensed in the state of Alabama.

Phlebotomist

Alabama Medical Group has an immediate full time opening for a phlebotomist. Job duties include: performing venipuncture on patients, preparing equipment to efficiently collect blood products, assisting donors before during and after donations, inventory supplies, clean and sterilize equipment, other duties as assigned.

Education: High school diploma. Phlebotomy certificate preferred.

Experience: Minimum one year of phlebotomy experience. Certification as medical assistant preferred but not required.

Hours are Monday through Friday; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

RN Triage Phone Nurse

Alabama Medical Group is seeking a dedicated RN Triage Nurse to join our healthcare team. The Triage Nurse will be responsible for assessing patients’ conditions over the phone to determine the urgency of medical needs and provide appropriate guidance.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicates with patients on the telephone and then directs them to emergency rooms or to see their physician during office hours.
  • Performs evaluations of the patient’s situation to estimate severity of illness and/ or injury and determines urgency of seeing the patient based on assessment and familiarity with patients’ condition and history. Confers with physician as needed.
  • Communicates physician advice/instructions to patients over the phone including giving information about abnormal labs and physician assessments, interventions, medication prescriptions and test results and documenting these in the EMR.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Valid RN license with proven experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in conducting patient assessments and triaging based on urgency.
  • Knowledge of primary care principles and practices.

Phone Room Operator

Alabama Medical Group has an immediate full-time position for a phone room operator. Job duties include making patient appointments on the phone for all doctors, vendors, pharmacies, and other clinics. Responsible for answering a multiline phone in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner, which includes taking messages, directing calls where needed and scheduling appointments.

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

Alabama Medical Group has an immediate full-time position available for a Certified Medical Assistant.  Must possess certification or registration with a national medical assistant registry.  Job duties include taking patient vitals, gathering patient medical history, injections, administering EKG’s, preparing prior authorizations, discharging patients, maintain quality benchmarks, communicating with the hall nurse and physician, inputting requisite information into EMR system.

Hours are Monday through Friday; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., but must be flexible.
